Races 2013 Recap and Reviews!

Races This Year

  • January: Super Spartan (http://www.spartanrace.com)
Race Review and Recap
Time: 2:49.25 AG: 19th
Amazing race!! One of my favorite I have ever raced even though I did not train at all.  About 3 hours of endorphins, mud, sweat, and the occasional tear.  There were 15 obstacles... the hardest was 80lb bucket of sand up and down a hill. It was about 11 miles up and down the most intense hills I have ever races.  By the end of almost every mountains hill, I was literally climbing on my hands and feet.  All this for one beer, one metal, a shirt, and calling yourself a SPARTAN! I highly suggest this race if you want a huge challenge. One bit of advice TRAIN!
  • February: Electric Run (http://electricrun.com)
Race Review and Recap:
Great race for a non-athlete person... no offense. I did not enjoy it. It took over an hour just to cross the START. There was no timing, only one water station, and people were all super drunk.  But my roommates had so much fun. They thought it was fun.
  • March: Coronado 10k (http://www.coronado10k.com)
Time: 48:25 AG: 5th
Great course! Flat, fast and fun.  This was a race I did just for fun. I had not trained for this race either, but did it for starting point time trial.  A lot of people from my company did it, so it was fun to meet up with them after and get brunch.
  • April: Warrior Dash
Time: 30.39 AG: 1st (3rd overall)
Loved this race... maybe because I won! :) I love this mud and obstacle races. I think they break up the monotony of just running.  This one was not as intense as spartan at all.  It was flat, only about 5 obstacles, 4 miles and there was not a ton of competition.  But overall it was a really fun race for someone's first mud run.  It did help that I did it on a date :)
  • May: Spring Sprint Triathlon
Swim: 5:51  Bike: 55.22 :(  Run: 22.38  Transition: 2:22/1:50  Time: 1:28
flat tires on the bike :( so that added 30 minutes to my bike split. Other than that it was fun and a great experience. I would definitely do this again!
